Rosso di Montalcino D.O.C.
Rosso di Montalcino is the ideal starting point to understand the true expression of Montalcino wines.
A wine of character with a pleasant fruit typical of a young wine but with the intensity that only the Montalcino terroir can give.
Vinification: removal of stems, soft pressing,
fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature of 28°-30°C,
maceration on the skins for approximately 20-25 days
with extraction technique done with delestage (one per week) e
pumpovers that are reduced during the process
Aging method: 12 months passage in 32 hl Slavonian oak barrels.
Followed by 3-4 months of bottle refinement.
Aging potential: 4-6 years depending on the vintage
Color: intense ruby red
Bouquet: violet, morello cherry and black berries.
Palate: enveloping, dry and with a good balance
Pairings: This wine expresses the typical fruit and floral notes of a young Sangiovese-based wine.
This Rosso di Montalcino can be paired with cured meats,
medium-aged cheeses, soups
and pasta dishes with light sauces.
