Le Chiuse Rosso di Montalcino
Rosso di Montalcino DOC
For many it is the younger brother of Brunello di Montalcino, for the “Le Chiuse” winery Rosso di Montalcino is a wine that has its own very specific identity.
Coming out in the second year after the harvest, it is certainly the youngest wine of their production, for this reason it is also the wine that can express more than any other the varietal characteristics of Sangiovese, such as juiciness and great freshness.
Unlike Brunello, it is essential that the Rosso shows great balance and smoothness, which is why they tend to use the largest clusters so that they have a lower tannic concentration and can handle it in a narrow time frame.
At the same time the same level of quality as Brunello is guaranteed by using the usual vines and a yield of less than 50 q.li/ha.
After aging for about a year in large Slavonian oak barrels, the wine is bottled and put on the market.
In the culture of the “Le Chiuse” winery it is a very important wine as it is the bottle that is uncorked every day, not only for its agility and ease of drinking but also and above all for its great versatility in pairing with food, capable of bringing joy and harmony to every meal.
